Here is the latest from Stevie.
Hi Everyone,
On Wednesday I was meant to race at Donnellson. We got down there at 5pm. We stopped to get some gas at the gas station, when we were told the races had been cancelled at 1pm!
Donnellson was to be the first time we were going to run the Coil Over shock set-up.
Saturday came with a 50% chance of rain.
When I signed in, I drew number 7, good for grid 2 in heat three.
During hot laps the track was rough. The coil over set-up seemed really good.
I lined up for our heat, outside the front row. Into the first corner side-by-side, but the guy on grid 1 had more drive out of the turn.
The track was starting to get a bit slick during the race, but the inside was still good. I finished 2nd.
I started the feature 9th. I missed the 'invert' by 1 (the top 8 grids were inverted).
The track was slick by now, but the inside was good. I was running down low, using a lot of brakes.
I finished 17th.
About 3 minutes after the feature, the brakes were still red hot.
The races were all over by 10pm.
At 12am the Tornado Siren went off, we had to go down to the shelter. We were down there for about one hour. There was no tornado, just strong winds, heavy rain and a lot of thunder and lightning!
My next race is this Saturday at Knoxville.
This week, Bob is going to teach me how to weld!
