Here is the latest from Stevie.
Hi Everyone,
We only had 2 days to work on the car, after racing at Burlington, before we headed back to Knoxville.
When I signed in, I drew number 30. This would turn out to be grid 6 in the 4th heat.
We went out for hot laps and the car seemed good. The track was in good condition.
We lined up for our heat and started the race. I got up to 4th, then a yellow came out. I got passed and was running in 5th.
2nd place through to 5th place were all in a bunch, but I was at the wrong end of the bunch.
I finished 5th. It wasn't enough to go directly to the A-Main, so we had to run the 'B'.
We started off grid 3. Tony Stewart started beside me in 4th. I got the jump and went narrow into 1. I ran in the slick and slid across the track, waiting for the cush to catch me and push me back down the track.
That didn't happen. I jumped the cush, hit the wall and flipped.
That was our night over. The damage that we could see was the top wing and the rear end. But we will start work on it on Monday, since today is Mothers Day.
Luckily we didn't have any racing scheduled for this week, so our next race will be this weekend at Knoxville.
