STEVIE'S COMMENTS FROM BURLINGTON

Stevie was quick off the mark to get these comments to us. Thanks Stevie.

Hey Everyone

Wednesday rolled around and it was time to go racing again.

This time a 3 hour trip to Burlington Speedway in South East Iowa.

The track is a 3/8 mile banked track. In turn 3 and 4 they have a concrete wall, but turn 1 and 2 have no barrier at all. So if you slide off, you're out of the track completely!

Our marble draw saw me grab number 11. That meant we were to start on the inside of the front row - in heat 3.

By the time it was my turn to go out for the heat, the track was already slick. At the start the high groove was the best option. The driver beside me got into turn one before I did. I trailed him for the whole race, although we did catch him towards the end. We ran out of laps to challenge for the lead. 2nd was where I stayed, which was ok, as the first two go through to the 'Top 8 Dash'

In the Dash we started 7th. During the formation laps, the front two drivers were 'playing games' with oneanother, so they both got sent to the back of the grid, 1 of them being Terry McCarl.

That moved us up the grid to 5th.

Finally the race got underway. I ended up 7th.

So off to the 'A' main.

Grid 7. On the first start, the driver in grid 5 spun out and I spun as well. I kept going by doing a donut, but then got sent to the back (for doing the donut). We eventually made it back to 14th place.

I was lapped shortly after and lost much chance of making any more positions up. But we did run with the leaders for the last ten laps, so our outright pace was pretty good.

We have Knoxville again this weekend. Be sure to tune in to the race broadcast!!

Stevie
